of Bloomfield Hills, was the winner of its class in the Pure Michigan
Bayview Mackinac Boat Race from Port Huron to Mackinac.
The
Natalie J crossed the finish line at Mackinac Island just before
midnight Sunday, about six hours after the 80-foot Beau Geste of Hong
Kong, according to official race results.
A member of Detroit’s
Bayview Yacht Club for more than 30 years, O’Niel was “elated” as his
crew of 13 completed the Cove Island Course covering 254 nautical miles.
“I
go in expecting to win,” said O’Niel, whose office is at 1579 W. Big
Beaver, Suite B-6, Troy.
He’s a veteran of 33 Mackinac races. more...
